**We will be starting a wonderful novel, Out of My Mind this week. This is a book about an eleven-year-old girl with cerebral palsy who cannot speak. Throughout the book, she overcomes and amazes her readers with her determination and strength. Melody is certainly an unforgettable character.

Meet Ms. Redden

Hey there! I am Ms. Maranda Redden and it’s a pleasure to meet you! I am so excited about having you in my class for the upcoming 2018-2019 school year.

I am starting my third year as a teacher, this will be my second year teaching at WOMS. Before becoming a teacher I worked for the State of Texas within the scope of child protection. I graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a B.S. Science degree;  majoring in Kinesiology, minoring in English. I am Special Education certified and since becoming a teacher, working within the field of Special Education has been my speciality. This year I will be teaching Resource/Inclusion ELA for 6th – 8th grade.

I have two amazing boys: Rylie will be a freshman this year at WOHS, and Ryan, will be going into the second grade at WOPS. We are very much a football loving crew and can not wait for the 2018-2019 football season to begin!

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, running, reading, and traveling.  I love love love watching football and track, baseball is growing on me. 🙂

I am thrilled about having you in class this year and I am looking forward to getting to know you!
