Meet Mrs. Covington
Meet Mrs. Covington (Simplified Version)
I am starting my 8th year as a teacher—six of those years have been in middle school, and five were previously at WOMS as a Special Education Resource ELA and Inclusion teacher. I’m thrilled to be joining WOMS again, this time as the new 7th-grade English Language Arts and Reading teacher!
I have always loved stories—whether they’re found in books, essays, poems, or our everyday lives. My classroom is a place where every voice matters, mistakes are part of learning, and creativity is always welcome. I am passionate about helping students grow as readers, writers, thinkers, and communicators. I’m looking forward to a fantastic year with my students—one that I know will be filled with learning, growth, and meaningful connections.
A Little About Me
I love my family! My husband and I have four children—three boys (Rylie, Ryan, and JR) and one girl (Makala). We also have three beautiful grandchildren: Aspen, Alayna, and Alex.
My youngest son, Ryan, will be a freshman this year at WOHS. I am eagerly anticipating the start of football season—being a football and track mom is one of my favorite things!
When sports aren’t keeping us busy, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I love to travel—the beach is my happy place!
My faith and relationship with Jesus are very important to me. We attend, serve, and love our church community at HighRidge Church in Longview.
Random Things I Love
Taking pictures, stickers, raccoons, sunshine, McAlister’s sweet tea, going on walks, reading good books, worship music, Netflix, and shopping.
